Mobile devices often have more limited support for web content. Content has to be reformatted before it reaches the device to achieve the best results possible. Each time a web browser or mobile device connects to content developed by SmartAirMedia, the device's capabilities are checked. The server determines the best content format for the device and delivers content that is optimized and formatted for optimal viewing.
Audiences are coming to expect dynamic interactive content which require web browser plugins. Mobile devices don't support all the plugins that are available on a desktop computer or laptop. Support for Flash, Java, Javascript, and QuickTime is not consistent, and is often nonexistent.
To make matters worse, plugin support may be limited, depending on the device. For example, the iPhone and Blackberry only play video that is encoded in specific formats that are not common on desktop computers.
